Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Rebind Publishing LLC ("Rebind," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Rebind Classics website and services (the "Service").
Our philosophy is simple: we're in the publishing business, not the data business. We collect the minimum information we need to run a great membership service, we don't sell your personal information, we don't run third-party advertising, and when you ask us to delete your data, we delete it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Account details: your name and email address when you create an account.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number or CVV; we receive only transaction metadata such as the card brand, last four digits, and expiration date, which we need for billing support and fraud prevention.
- Communications: messages you send us (support requests, replies to our emails, survey responses).
- Preferences: settings you choose, such as email preferences.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage information: which pages, essays, and episodes you view or play, so we can maintain your place, personalize your library, understand which content members value, and accurately pay royalties to our content creators.
- Device and log information: IP address, browser type, operating system, language, timezone, and timestamps, used for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.
- Cookies: see Section 5.
What we deliberately don't collect: we don't ask for more than we need. No government IDs, no precise location tracking, no contact-list access, no data purchased from brokers.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- provide the Service: authenticate you, deliver content, remember your progress and preferences;
- process payments, renewals, and refunds, and send transactional emails (receipts, renewal reminders, important account notices);
- respond to your questions and support requests;
- send you member updates and marketing emails only if you've opted in; every one includes a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects your membership;
- understand how the Service is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it;
- protect the Service and our members: prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
3. What we don't do with your information
- We don't sell your personal information to anyone.
- We don't share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We don't run third-party ad networks on the Service.
- We may use aggregated, de-identified data (for example, "X% of members finished this series") internally and in public materials, but never in a form that identifies you, and we don't attempt to re-identify de-identified data.
4. When we share information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate: such as payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, hosting and publishing infrastructure, analytics, and customer support tooling. Each is bound by contract to use your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal authorities, when required by law, subpoena, or court order. Unless legally prohibited, we'll notify you before disclosing your information in response to such a request.
- A successor entity, if Rebind is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Your information would remain subject to commitments at least as protective as this policy, and we'd notify you of any change in ownership.
That's the complete list.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use:
- Essential cookies: required to log you in, keep your session secure, and process payments. The Service can't work without these.
- Functional cookies: remember your preferences and reading progress.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand aggregate usage. [If using a privacy-focused analytics tool such as Plausible/Fathom, say so here; it's a genuine trust point. If using Google Analytics, disclose it and offer the opt-out.]
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by applicable law. We don't use third-party advertising or social media tracking pixels on the Service.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it:
- Account data: for as long as your account exists so you can reactivate later with your library and progress intact. You can delete your data at any time by contacting us, and we'll delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep.
- Transaction records: retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance (typically 7 years).
- Support correspondence: retained for 2 years so we can help you effectively if an issue recurs, unless otherwise required by legal compliance.
- Backups: deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being purged on the normal backup cycle.
7. Your rights and choices
These rights are for everyone. Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete;
- Delete your account and personal information;
- Export your data in a portable format;
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time (unsubscribe link in every email, or email us).
To exercise any of these, email support@rebindclassics.com from the address on your account, or use your account settings where available. We'll respond within 30 days, we won't charge you, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. If we ever deny a request (for example, a legal retention requirement), we'll explain why, and you may appeal by replying to our response.
For residents of the EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR): the rights above correspond to your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security, improvement), consent (marketing), and legal compliance. Where your data is transferred outside your region, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
For residents of U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and others): the rights above cover your statutory rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. If that ever changed, we would provide the required opt-out first. California residents: we do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of consumers under 16, and we honor GPC as an opt-out signal.
8. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls that limit employee access to what their role requires, and reputable, security-audited infrastructure providers. Payments are handled by a PCI-DSS-compliant processor. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but if we ever experience a breach affecting your personal information, we'll notify you promptly and tell you plainly what happened, what it means for you, and what we're doing about it.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact support@rebindclassics.com and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is material, especially any change to what we collect or share, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. We will never retroactively weaken protections on data collected under a prior version without your consent.
