Book Twelve closes the Meditations, and Derren Brown closes this series inside it. He starts at the far end of a life, with the Stoic idea that a newborn's first breath is where the soul actually begins, then works forward through what it costs to actually rehearse dying rather than just theorize about it. He ends on the last two sentences Marcus wrote for himself, and on how easily, in Brown's reading, they let a person go.
