Derren Brown on Meditations

Derren Brown has spent his career walking into rooms that might be empty, and he has learned to trust that feeling of being unready. This episode follows that lesson everywhere it goes: a Thanksgiving table he still cannot stop replaying, stalkers who found their way to his parents' front door, and the ordinary strangeness of losing a parent during lockdown with no funeral to mark it. Brown ties all of it to one of Marcus Aurelius's briefest lines, and to an old Mexican idea that a person dies three times, the last one the quietest of all.
